10 Tips For Your
Deepest, Most Even Tan Yet.

(keep scrolling, there's something extra for you at the end)

A good tan isn't luck. It comes down to a handful of small habits, done consistently.
01

Start with clean, exfoliated skin

Exfoliate 1-2 days before you plan to tan. Smooth skin holds color evenly, while flaky patches fade first.

Focus on spots that get overlooked: elbows, knees, ankles.

Ps: I know this might be biased but our Glow n' Go Body Polish is the perfect sugar body scrub for this step. It keeps skin deliciously soft.
02

Moisturize the day before, not just after

Hydrated skin tans more evenly and holds its color longer. Dry skin means your tan fades faster and looks uneven.

Pro tip: if your skin feels irritated, avoid the sun, and hydrate, use aloe cooling gel or a barrier repair cream.
03

Always wear SPF, even if you tan fast

If you're out in direct sun, SPF 15 or higher is non-negotiable. Reapply every 2 hours (or after swimming/sweating).

04

Avoid tanning during peak UV hours

The sun is strongest between 10am and 4pm. Best time to tan: morning or late afternoon for a safer glow.

Ps: more sun doesn't mean better, deeper tan, listen to your body. It's better to build it slowly and gradually instead of frying in the sun for a whole day.
05

Don't stay out too long

More time doesn't always mean a better tan. It often means damage. Start slow: 20-40 minutes, then build gradually.

If you have darker skin tone or already have a base tan, this time can be increased but dont abuse it, more sun doesn't mean better tan.
06

Your skin absorbs everything you put on it

So choose clean, chemical-free products, like Brazi Bronze's Organic Tanning Oil for a natural glow and hydrated skin. Always wear SPF too!

07

Flip and rotate for an even tan

Laying in one position too long gives uneven color. Rotate every 20-30 minutes for a balanced glow.

08

Drink water like it's your job

Sun and heat dehydrate you fast. Hydration helps skin look smoother, more glowy, and less dry or peely after tanning.

09

Keep your skin calm after tanning

After sun exposure, go for a cool shower, gentle moisturizer, and aloe if needed. Avoid scrubs and harsh soaps right after.

10

Eat beta-carotene rich foods

If you want your skin to look more golden and radiant, start eating beta-carotene rich foods a few times a week. Beta-carotene is an antioxidant (and a vitamin A precursor) that supports skin glow, tone, and barrier health over time.

The best tan is a healthy tan
A slow, even glow will always look better than a sunburn

Give your skin time. Avoid overexposure. That's really the whole guide in one sentence.

Did you know

A seed older than sunscreen

A seed older than sunscreen

Long before tanning oil came in a bottle, Indigenous communities across Brazil were using a small red seed called urucum (also known as annatto) to protect their skin from the harsh tropical sun.

Rich in carotenoids, it leaves a warm golden tint on skin while defending it from oxidative stress caused by prolonged sun exposure.

So when we built our own tanning oil, urucum was the obvious place to start. Here's what we make with it.

Questions?

We've got you

Can I use it on my face?

This oil is formulated for body use only. It's rich and potent, and it doesn't contain SPF, so facial skin (which is thinner and more sensitive) is more likely to burn. It's still packed with antioxidants that help protect skin from environmental stress, just save it for the neck down.

Will I go orange if I have fair skin?

No. The color comes from urucum's natural beta-carotene, which works with your body's own melanin production rather than staining the skin the way some self-tanners can. You'll get a deeper, more natural-looking tan instead of an orange tint.

How does the oil actually work?

The beta-carotene in the oil is known to support your body's natural melanin production, the process responsible for skin color, which can help you tan quicker and deeper. Everyone's skin responds a little differently, so more oil doesn't mean an instant tan. Give it time and consistency.

Can I use it while pregnant?

Many of our customers do, since the oil is free of harsh chemicals and preservatives and works well as a daily moisturizing body oil on or off the sun. That said, we're not doctors, so please check with yours first about sun exposure and skincare during pregnancy.

Does it stain fabric?

It can, since the beta-carotene that gives your skin that glow can also transfer to lighter fabrics. We'd suggest darker swimsuits and towels while you're using it, just to be safe.

Is it safe if I have allergies?

The base oil is sweet almond oil, so we don't recommend this product for anyone with a nut allergy. For everyone else, we still suggest patch testing a small area first. If you notice a rash, stop use, and if you experience a sunburn or anything that feels like a medical concern, seek care right away.

How do I use my discount code?

Add the oil (or anything else you'd like) to your cart, then enter the code at checkout in the discount code field. It'll apply automatically to your order total.
